Water Lily Pond is an oil on canvas piece by Claude Monet. It was created in 1899 and is currently located at the MET. This piece is very pleasing and calming to look at because of the color palette used which is very natural and the shapes and lines are very organic.

The Storm on the Sea of Galilee is a piece by Rembrandt that was painted in 1633 and was held at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. This piece depicts a scene of a storm very well with the intense contrast of dark clouds with a break of sunlight against the wave. It creates a sense of instability with the tilting ship and light and dark on opposite sides of the piece.
