Chasse with the Crucifixion and Christ in Majesty is a alter furnishing created in around 1180–90. This piece is very interesting because the colors used are very pleasant and the subject is unique. It is currently held at the MET and was a gift from J. Pierpont Morgan in 1917.

Evening: Landscape with an Aqueduct is by Théodore Gericault created in 1818. It is an oil on canvas. This piece is intriguing because of the contrast used that really bring out the landscape and gives it a very majestic and neverending feeling. This is also located at the MET

Feminist Artworks

Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party is one of the most famous feminist artworks ever known. It is located at the Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum. This installation consists of thirty-nine place settings honoring different woman of history. 999 names of other woman were inscribed on the floor below the table. This piece is interesting to me because it takes something as mundane as a table and makes it a statement for feminism.

Image result for three weeks in may

Suzanne Lacy's Three Weeks of May works against violence against woman. This was a three-week performance with one being them marking up the sidewalk where two woman were raped with an outline of a body such like that the police would do for a murder victim. These performances addressed something very serious that many people seem to ignore and place outside of their realm of reality.
